Design Inspector

The Design Inspector automatically checks your design in Design, Emulate and Run modes. Currently the Design Inspector checks for:

• Orphaned Controls - Controls that have been placed in a Schematic Page, or UCI, then the component, from which the control originated, is deleted.
• Un-terminated Signals - Signal Names that are assigned to a component input (or output), but there is no matching Signal Name on another component output (or input).

Using the Design Inspector

When there is an orphaned control, or an un-terminated signal, a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the center displays on the Design Inspector accordion bar.

1. Click the Design Inspector accordion bar to display the list of orphaned controls, and/or un-terminated signals.
2. Click one of the items in the list. The associated orphaned control or un-terminated signal is highlighted in red.
3. Fix the problem.
